Chewbacca Mom Sang The National Anthem Before The Astros Game, And It Is NOT What You'd Expect
Yo, Chewbacca Mom just KILLED that National Anthem. Seriously. She has the voice of an angel. Say what you want about these viral video stars that come out with one video and overstay their 15 minutes of fame, but Chewbacca Mom can sing the National Anthem for me ANY day. I almost feel like an asshole for underestimating her here. I was totally blown away when she started singing. I clicked on the link, and my first thought was, come on, Astros. You’re really gonna let a viral video person sing the National Anthem just to sell a couple dozen extra tickets for the chance to see Chewbacca Mom?
It’s not like I was expecting a Rosanne-type rendition, but I certainly wasn’t expecting that, either. Chewbacca Mom is living proof that you can’t judge a book by its cover, and she shoved that proof right up my pre-judgmental ass. Good for you, Chewbacca Mom. That’s why America is the greatest country in the world, the land of opportunity, where you can make a cell phone video of yourself laughing in a Chewbacca mask in a Kohl’s parking lot, and turn that into an opportunity to sing the National Anthem before a Major League Baseball game.
